If you are unable to screw the flanges onto the thread of your new ceramic disc Modern Lever tapware, there is a good chance your plumbing is deeply recessed. This can occur in older buildings where new adhesive has been applied over existing rendering, increasing the wall thickness between the tile surface and the tap seat.
Our Modern Lever tapware is supplied with black PVC thread extenders, which will often resolve this issue. When they don’t, this ceramic disc in-wall seat extender kit will bring the tap seat forward by 28mm.
Importantly, before installing these extender kits, ensure all old washers and red fibre body washers are completely removed from the existing tap bodies inside the wall. If left in place, they will prevent the extender from sealing correctly against the tap seat.
